Jica , Hill International
Tourism is a major source of foreign currency; thus, the sector significantly impacts job creation and has a major ripple effect on Egypt's economy. One major challenge is preserving and utilising historical assets. While new museums have been built in Alexandria and Luxor, the Egyptian Museum (opened in 1902) requires substantial renovation after more than a century of operation.
To address this, Egypt is constructing the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza, 15 km southwest of Cairo near the Pyramids. The GEM will enhance preservation and restoration capabilities while strengthening exhibition, research, and educational functions. It is expected to display over 50,000 artefacts, including the full collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures, notably the golden mask. The project will support tourism growth, job creation, and broader socioeconomic development.

The GEM also represents a flagship of long-standing Egyptian-Japanese cooperation. JICA is financing construction through two ODA loans totalling approximately $800 million and providing technical cooperation for
(1) conservation, restoration, packing, and transport of artefacts at the GEM Conservation Centre (GEM-CC);
(2) museum and exhibition management in preparation for opening; and
(3) excavation of the second Khufu Ship (Solar Boat) near the Pyramids, which is expected to be a major attraction.

Vegas Oil & Gas
Vegas has expanded its business by acquiring additional exploration concessions in Egypt through licensing rounds. They have drilled 75 wells as an operator, of which 24 have been exploration wells and the remainder appraisal and development wells. Vegas has made a total of 14 discoveries, leading to the creation of 10 distinct development leases. This success has yielded a total 2P (proven and probable) reserves base of 445 million barrels of oil equivalent. The 2013 exit production rates were 15,340 barrels per day of liquids and 71.3 million standard cubic feet per day of gas.
The company now holds operating interests in one onshore exploration concession in the Arab Republic of Egypt and another exploration asset in Texas (USA) through its 35% shareholding in Motor Oil Vegas Upstream Limited.

Eypoty De Franc , Setec , Sogea
A contract for building the new Qasr El Ainy hospital was awarded to a French consortium made up of Sogea Company, Eypoty De Franc Company, and Set Folky (Setec). El Qasr El Ainy Educational Hospital consists of 12 floors, including 1200 beds. The eighth and ninth floors represent paid treatment. The hospital has resulted in a boom in the world of medicine, with its state-of-the-art equipment. It represents a landmark achievement for Cairo University.
The hospital includes departments of general internal medicine (counting eight departments), departments of internal surgery (counting six departments), specialised surgeries (counting five departments) and cooperative medical units (intensive care, blood bank and endoscopy unit), central laboratories, diagnostic ray departments and surgical operation units (comprising 18 operation rooms equipped with all services, such as sterilisation, anaesthesia and awakening rooms, and equipped with all types of surgical microscopes, laser devices and diagnostic rays) that can be stored on video devices.
Elevator services: There are 27 elevators at the hospital to serve patients and visitors, transferring food and tools. This system facilitates the movement of workers in the hospital.

The El Tebbin Power Plant, in El Tebbin near Cairo, was a crucial addition to Egypt's energy infrastructure. Constructed with advanced technology and engineering, this thermal power plant contributed substantially to meeting the country's increasing electricity demand during the period of its operation.
The initiatives by Marubeni exemplified their commitment to fostering sustainable development and energy security in Egypt.
